Haunted Places &
Battlefields, Film & Literature, Fruit Tree Gardens and Art
& Architecture are the latest itinerary suggestions from The
National Trust for Scotland for groups wanting to experience a
holiday of distinction.
Groups will experience ghostly encounters, are taken to sets
of most recent film and movie productions or travel through time
by seeing the art and architecture of many centuries and taste
the fruits our ancestors used to eat.
Meet ‘Lady Blanche’ at Castle Fraser or ‘The
Green Lady’ at Fyvie Castle and hear the stories of their
life and death. Visit the film sets for the classic cult film
‘The Wicker Man’ with Christopher Lee at Culzean Castle
or Morgan Freeman’s latest Film ‘Unleashed’
at Pollok House in Glasgow.
Geraldine Graf, Head of Travel Trade and Hospitality says ‘We
are constantly developing new itinerary ideas for different audiences.
There is bound to be the right offer for every taste. After all
more than 120 historic properties and sites have a lot of stories
to tell and at least as much to discover.’
Over the last year, the National Trust for Scotland has put together
an exciting range of itineraries for the group travel market.
These are designed to appeal to a wide variety of interests and
can be tailored to suit different target groups. Tour Operators
can choose from more than 120 of the Trust’s most impressive
gardens, castles, historic sites, monuments, grand houses and
nature reserves to make their trips the most memorable.
All itineraries can be booked as presented or modified to suit
customer requirements. The Travel Trade Department is happy to
assist Tour Operators in developing bespoke itineraries and act
as a one-stop-shop for bookings for all National Trust for Scotland
properties. Companies can also apply for an account to set up
convenient monthly invoicing for all visits so that ‘you
can relax and let us do all hard work’.
