Help us secure the future of our past
Thank you for your interest in Tak Tent. The survey closed on 12th August and responses are currently being tabulated. We'll announce the outcomes soon, so keep checking the website for updates.
Tak tent is the old Scots and Ulster-Scots phrase which literally means ‘take care’ but also implies that you think before you make a decision. Robert Burns used this phrase, such as in his Epistle to James Smith, as published in 1786, in which he wrote I red you, honest man, tak tent!
At the Trust we are doing a lot of thinking about the future of the charity and what it will mean for Scotland’s heritage. By the autumn we will produce a new strategic plan that will lead the Trust towards financial sustainability. We will be looking at different ways of managing some of our properties and setting out a process by which we can prioritise investment in those with significant national heritage importance.
The Tak Tent survey will will help us finalise our strategy before its publication in September 2011.
