    APPEAL UPDATES

  • Threatened Plants Appeal - three little words that sum up a potentially big problem for the National Trust for Scotland 's precious plant collections.

The National Trust for Scotland cares for the most significant plant collections in Scotland representing centuries of horticultural heritage. Because of plant diseases and unusual weather conditions, we face some of the greatest challenges to our collections for 60 years. The fungal disease Phytophthora ramorum (also known as Sudden Oak Death) could have a potentially devastating effect on our plant collections. Urgent preparation is needed to preserve these precious plants for future generations.

We need your donations to help us protect our unique and priceless plant collections. Scotland’s beautiful gardens are the envy of the gardening world - your support will strengthen our efforts to keep them that way.

  • The Sole Trading Appeal

Launched in 2000, The Sole Trading Appeal raises funds for the repair of eroded mountain footpaths. The first phase of the programme is almost complete with work having been carried out at Torridon, Glencoe, Arran, Ben Lawers, Ben Lomond , Mar Lodge Estate and Kintail. We still have a number to do and with your help we hope to get the final phase completed in the next few years so that we can then focus solely on maintenance thereafter. For further information please call the Development Department on 0844 493 2113 or email development@nts.org.uk
