You have just 60 minutes to look for clues, solve a series of puzzles and complete challenges in order to thwart the Butler’s devious plans.
A grand country house set in the scenic surroundings of Pollok Country Park and in easy reach of Glasgow City Centre.
Pollok House was home to the Maxwell family and gives a real taste of upstairs/downstairs life in the 1930s. Above stairs, the lavish family rooms are packed full of period furniture and furnishings. Below stairs the vast servants’ quarters show the realities of running a country house.
Some of the servants’ rooms are now the shop selling books, gifts and food, while the original kitchen is now home to the Edwardian Kitchen Café. The below stairs area is free to visit all year round.
A visit to Pollok House can be easily combined with other sites within Pollok Country Park including the old stable courtyard, the walled garden and glasshouses, and the woodland and riverside walks.
Pollok House is currently undergoing some external maintenance which is expected to continue until April 2017. During the months of January, February and March the Upper House will be closed to the public. Below stairs, the Edwardian Kitchen café and gift shop will remain open.
The Upper House will re-open at the end of March 2017.
For conservation reasons, some of our paintings including works by El Greco, Goya and Blake have been removed from the house. These works can be viewed by appointment at Glasgow Museums Resource Centre for more information click here.
Pollok House is a popular wedding venue, during functions there may be restricted access to one or two rooms. If you are concerned about this affecting your enjoyment of Pollok House please call us to check 0141 616 6410.
