West Affric is a vast and remote expanse of wild land, ideally suited to adventurous walkers who want to get off the beaten track. It is situated at the western end of Glen Affric – sometimes described as the most beautiful of all the Scottish glens.

The area spans 3,662 hectares and includes one of the most popular east/west paths in the Highlands, once part of the drove road from Skye to Dingwall.

The National Trust for Scotland bought West Affric in 1993 and alongside our partners we are carrying out vital conservation work to protect it and restore its natural ecosystem.
Did you know?

West Affric was purchased in 1993 thanks to donations from the Chris Brasher Trust and a bequest from Miles Morrison. It joined the existing NTS properties at Kintail and Glomach, making a total of 11,000 hectares under Trust care.
