West Affric is a vast and remote expanse of wild land, ideally suited to adventurous walkers who want to get off the beaten track. It is situated at the western end of Glen Affric – sometimes described as the most beautiful of all the Scottish glens.

The area spans 3,662 hectares and includes one of the most popular east/west paths in the Highlands, once part of the drove road from Skye to Dingwall.

The National Trust for Scotland bought West Affric in 1993 and alongside our partners we are carrying out vital conservation work to protect it and restore its natural ecosystem.
Did you know?

Glen Affric’s breathtaking panorama has inspired a great number of artists, including Sir Edwin Landseer, whose famous Monarch of the Glen painting was set here.
