West Affric is a vast and remote expanse of wild land, ideally suited to adventurous walkers who want to get off the beaten track.
It is situated at the western end of Glen Affric – sometimes described as the most beautiful of all the Scottish glens.
The expansive area sincludes one of the most popular east/west paths in the Highlands, once part of the drove road from Skye to Dingwall.
The National Trust for Scotland bought West Affric in 1993 and alongside our partners we are carrying out vital conservation work to protect it and restore its natural ecosystem.
West Affric is part of the Glen Affric National Scenic Area, a vast area of wild land that gives visitors a sense of being off the beaten track.
The Footpath Fund is dedicated to protecting Scotland’s majestic landscape from the damaging effects of erosion. You can help us in our footpath conservation work by donating today to the One Wee Step campaign. All your donations will go towards path repair projects at the spectacular properties under our protection.
