There’s plenty of family fun to be had at Pollok House, upstairs and down, inside and out.
Pack your wee ones off in search of treasure every day in July and August with the Quest for the Golden Ticket. Finding the answers to the clues and riddles earns them a Golden Ticket and the chance to inherit from the Will. Successful sleuths get entered into a prize draw to win one of four prizes, including a three-night break for four people at a Trust property.
Friendly guides are always on hand to entertain them with stories about the house’s contents and inhabitants. Or pick up an I Spy sheet from reception and find all the interesting objects and figurines scattered throughout the rooms, from the governess to the scullery maid.
Outside, you’re spoilt for choice. Pollok House is set in the middle of Pollok Country Park, which is the perfect place for young explorers to yomp in the woods, splash about next to the river or swing in the adventure playground. Make sure you take them to visit the Clydesdale horses that live at the nearby old stable courtyard, stopping to say hello to the Highland cattle on the way. And if the sun’s shining, why not stock up on snacks from the food shop at the house and have a picnic in the park?
