more details »

Southside Film Festival, in partnership with National Trust Scotland, are delighted to present Gosford Park a 1930’s ‘whodunit’ starring Stephen Fry, Maggie Smith and Glasgow’s own Kelly MacDonald.

We follow the upstairs guests and their downstairs servants at a country house weekend shooting party where a series of illicit trysts and dodgy business deals culminate in murder.

From 5.30pm onwards enjoy a pre-film drink in the opulence of the Pavilion Library overlooking the gardens of the house, you will then be led through to the Dining Room for the screening at 6.15pm surrounded by the artwork and portraits of the Maxwell family.

After the credits roll follow the double sweeping staircase downstairs to the servants’ quarters for a two course meal and glass of wine in the kitchen restaurant.

Ticket price includes a two course meal (main and dessert) with a glass of wine and the film screening. The bar in the library is a paid bar.

Dinner menu available at www.southsidefilmfestival.net. If you have any dietary or access requirements please email southsidefilmfest@gmail.com

Tickets are available via www.tickets-scotland.com or in person at Young’s Interesting Books, Skirving St.

Want to find the answers to these, and many more questions, about Edwardian life in a Scottish country house?

From 1st July till October 31st 2013 take a walk back in time to 1900-10 when Pollok House was in its heyday. Talk with our guides, who will be dressed in authentic Edwardian costume, they have the answers to your questions.

Costumed Interpretation at Pollok House In an innovative 3-year partnership with Pollok House, students from the HND Fashion Technology course at Cardonald College are in the process of creating period costumes for the House. This year they are creating Edwardian costumes which will be used in the house in live costumed interpretation from July 2013 and throughout the rest of the year. In 2014 the theme will be Mid-Victorian and next years’ students at Cardonald College will design and create the costumes for that period. The work they do in creating these costumes is an important part of their coursework.
