    The club gives children a great opportunity to be involved with lots of fantastic nature and outdoor activities. The club is for children from 7 to 12 and is run by the Lothian Ranger service.

    The is a one off joining fee of £20.00 per child for the full year of 2015

    Feb 21 Sat 10am to 11.30am: Visit to the recycling centre Wallyford.
    Mar 21 Sat 10am to 11.30am: Sun print photo making Inveresk Lodge Garden.
    Apr 18 Sat 10am to 11.30am: Minibeast hunt Inveresk Lodge Garden.
    May 16 Sat 10.30am to 12.30pm: Visit to water of Leith to river dip.
    Jun 20 Sat 10am to 12pm: Joint Nature watch event at Newhailes.
    Aug 15 Sat 10am to 11.30am: Kite making at Fisherrow harbour.
    Sep 19 Sat 7pm to 9pm: Bat walk at Newhailes estate.
    Oct 17 Sat 10am to 11.30am: Bird migration madness Newhailes.
    Nov 21 Sat 10am to 11.30am: Charcoal making at Newhailes.
    Dec 19 Sat 10am to 11.30am: Festive wreath making at Inveresk Lodge Garden.

    Fiona Grant Robertson is an artist who works on and with paper. Working on paper as a painter in watercolours and with paper in collaging, moulding and casting paper into sculptural forms.

    Nature Nippers is very poplar and our new 2015 programme is full of fantastic nature activities for children and adults.

    These events are for children under 5's who must be accompanied by an adult. There is No charge for Adults.

    Nature Nippers Programme for 2015 April: Easter means eggs, find out about nesting birds and enjoy making some Easter crafts. June: Skylark Nippers, come along and meet the skylarks of Newhailes. August: Teddy bear dens and funky medals at Newhailes, learn how to build dens and make wood medals. October: Autumn art at Newhailes. November: Slugs and snails of Newhailes and the story of Sasha the snail. December: Making natural decorations and celebrate by putting them on a tree at Newhailes. May and September Nature Nippers take place at Inveresk Lodge Garden (EH21 7TE)

Discover 300 years of Scottish history through this magnificent and carefully conserved neo-Palladian villa. Newhailes is famed for having some of the finest rococo interiors in Scotland.

There are sumptuous decorative details at every turn, from the gilded eagles over the drawing room windows to the exquisite Chinese wallpaper and imposing Italian marble fireplaces.

A major part of the house’s charm is its mellow feel. Newhailes has been allowed to grow old gracefully through a pioneering conservation policy which does ‘as much as is necessary, but as little as possible’ to keep the house in good order without disturbing its ‘untouched’ atmosphere.
