Mar Lodge Estate is 3 miles W of Braemar.

By bus
Stagecoach Bluebird service numbers 201, 202 and 203 (Aberdeen - Banchory - Torphins - Aboyne - Ballater - Braemar) all stop at Braemar, 3 miles from Mar Lodge Estate. There are, however, no public transport services from Braemar to the Mar Lodge Estate.
Stagecoach bus numbers 201, 202 and 203 also stop at Crathes Castle and Drum Castle.

By train
Aberdeen bus station is just a couple of minutes’ walk from Aberdeen railway station. From Aberdeen bus station (65 miles away from Mar Lodge), take the Stagecoach Bluebird bus numbers 201, 202 or 203 to Braemar.

There are, however, no public transport services from Braemar to the estate.

By bike
Whilst a National Cycle Route does not pass by Mar Lodge Estate, it is still easy to cycle there. Mar Lodge Estate is accessible from the A93 via the unclassified road to Linn of Dee.

It is also possible to hire bicycles with Cycle Highlands at Ballater, who can deliver the bicycles to Mar Lodge Estate. There is a bicycle lock-up available for guests at the Lodge.

On foot
Sitting within the stunning Cairngorms National Park, there is a huge variety of low-level and high-level walks in and around Braemar.
