Learn the basics of the traditional skill of dry stone walling from the experts in the historic grounds of Falkland Palace.

As part of our ongoing Wildlife Project, Billy McCallum of the Dry Stone Walling Association, will be joining us to coach 12 people on how to dry stone wall.

The aim for the day will be to gain the basics of a valuable traditional skill whilst constructing a beautiful dry stone wall bench that both human and wildlife visitors to Falkland Palace garden can enjoy.

Come along and learn the basics of this traditional skill for free.

The course will take place outdoors so please come dressed appropriately. Suitable for adults only. Please book in advance as spaces are limited.

Enter the world of night creatures in the beautiful Percy Cane Gardens of Falkland Palace and help us to monitor our moth population. Join us at dusk to set our humane moth traps in the gardens and return the next morning to discover what beautiful specimens have visited us during the night.

A fun and informative evening that culminates the next morning in a survey of our moths and their release.

Suitable for Families and Adults. The event is held outside in our gardens, please come dressed appropriately. This is a free event.

Join us for a colourful and energetic afternoon filled with dance and music, set in the beautiful grounds of Falkland Palace.

As part of the festival the Dunedin Dancers will pay their traditional visit to Falkland Palace where they will perform an array of spirited traditional Scottish folk dances accompanied by their international counterparts Dophei from Belgium, Haj from Slovakia and Rasa from Lithuania.

This is an outdoor performance, please dress appropriately. The cost of the performance is included in the normal admission price for the garden.

Back by popular demand, the Festival Players once again treat us to a performance of one of Shakespeare's most popular works.

The traditional all male cast will perform A Midsummer Night's Dream on our lawn with the stunning backdrop of Falkland Palace, transporting you to a wonderful world filled with ancient greek characters, true love and fairies.

This colourful and magical comedy will have your heart singing and your belly aching.

Bring a picnic with you and make an evening of it.

Please bring your own blankets or low back chairs to sit on and wrap up warm. Performances are rarely cancelled. The gates open at 6pm for a 7pm start. Performance time is approximately 2 hours.
