Crathes Castle is 15 miles W of Aberdeen and 3 miles E of Banchory.

By bus
Stagecoach Bluebird bus numbers 201, 202 and 203 from Aberdeen bus station stop at the entrance to Crathes Estate.

By train
From Aberdeen railway station, take the Stagecoach Bluebird bus numbers 201, 202 or 203 from Aberdeen bus station, which is right next to the railway station. These buses stop at the entrance to Crathes Estate.

By bike
To reach Crathes Castle, cycle along the ‘Banchory to Crathes Deeside Way’ to Milton and then follow the signs to Crathes Castle, which will take you under the road bridge.

Saturday 4th May the last entry to the castle will be at 1pm.

On Friday 12 and Saturday 13 July 2013 entry to the Walled Gardens will be with tickets to Alice in Wonderland only. All visitors, including NTS members, must purchase a ticket.

Castle: 5 Jan to 22 Mar, Sat/Sun 10.30-3.45; 23 Mar to 31 Oct, daily 10.30-4.45; 1 Nov to 23 Dec*, Sat/Sun 10.30-3.45.
