Car Park Charge Introduced
Please note that it now costs £3 to park a car at the Rowardennan car park, for access to Ben Lomond. This charge has been introduced by Forestry Commission Scotland, the car park landowners, to pay for car park improvements, litter clearance, and toilet maintenance. Once you have purchased a ticket, it will cover you for a whole day's parking in any of the east Loch Lomond car parks. The charge is nothing to do with the National Trust for Scotland and does not contribute to NTS management on Ben Lomond, although it will benefit the visitor experience to the lochside. If you visit Ben Lomond and Rowardennan regularly, there is also a season ticket option, costing £20, available from FCS at Aberfoyle.

By Bus: Bus transport is possible as far as Balmaha (from Glasgow via Drymen), 7 miles to the south. From there it is a 7-mile walk/cycle to Rowardennan. Alternatively, there are regular buses up the A82 on the west side of Loch Lomond. It is possible in the summer months to get the bus to Inverbeg and then get the passenger ferry across the loch.

Cycle: Near NCN 7. By road north from Drymen, or cycles can be taken on the passenger ferry from Inverbeg.

Train: The closest train station is Balloch to the south of Loch Lomond.

Road: Take the Balmaha road north from Drymen (B837). Rowardennan is 12 miles north of Drymen.

Ferry: Ferry services are available between Rowardennan and both Luss and Tarbet daily from 29 March to 3 November 2013. For up to date information on crossings and timetables, please visit www.cruiselochlomond.co.uk
