The tower has plenty to occupy visitors with children of all ages, thanks to its spooky dungeon, deep well and roof walkway. Children are bound to enjoy hearing about the various ghostly apparitions that have been reported in the house too. Younger children can join in regular activities such as brass rubbing, colouring-in activity sheets and dressing up in a variety of period costumes.
We also run a number of special and seasonal events which make for an unbeatable family day out. Join us for Easter egg hunts or drop in for our annual Victorian-themed Christmas Fayre with stalls selling local chocolates, jewellery and other gifts.
At our Living History events staff show visitors round dressed as servants, lords and ladies, dispensing tales of everyday life in the house from both ‘upstairs’ and ‘downstairs’ perspectives.
