Beloved Beano characters say ‘tour Trust treasures’
Dennis the Menace and Gnasher are calling on children from all over Scotland to get out and explore the National Trust for Scotland’s treasures this summer.
The beloved characters from Scotland’s iconic Beano comic have joined forces with the conservation charity to stop schoolchildren from getting bored over the summer holidays this year.

Instead, kids can get stuck into Scottish history and heritage, learning all about battles, wildlife and castles with the Gnashional Treasure Hunt. Families will have to find the four Gnashers hidden at one of the 26 participating properties, collect pawprint stamps and swap the pawprints for prizes - to join in with the fun families have to be members of the National Trust for Scotland.

National Trust for Scotland’s Director of Commercial Services and Marketing, Henk Berits said:

“We all know how difficult it is to keep children occupied for the summer holidays. Fortunately, at the National Trust for Scotland, we have the answer. With so many sites on your doorstep, kids can get the chance to do everything from learning about medieval armoury, getting hands on with bugs and beasties and even trying their hand at domestic service. There’s definitely enough to keep the kids occupied - even those who are as energetic and mischievous as Dennis the Menace.”

The Gnashional Treasure Hunt runs at participating properties from 1 July until 31 October and is only available to new or existing members of the National Trust for Scotland.
