The Estate, and its local community, offers a wide range of facilities and activities for families, including: areas suitable for picnics at Balmacara Square and Lochalsh Woodland Walks, Lochalsh Woodland Park, Kyle Swimming Pool, walking, kayaking at Plockton, Ranger-led guided walks, orienteering, mountain biking routes, Seaprobe Atlantis (Glass-bottomed boat) which operates out of Kyle of Lochalsh, Calum’s Seal Trips which operate out of Plockton, Eilean Ban Visitor Centre in Kyleakin (just over the Skye Bridge) and Eilean Donan Castle (c. 5 miles east of the estate at Dornie).

Balmacara Estate are currently advertising for a two person Rhododendron Control Team to range over the estate controlling this invasive plant using the “Lever and Mulch” method primarily, with stem injection for those very large or stubborn plants. more>
