    Autumn/Winter

The property is closed during the late autumn and winter months, although the Peter Pan garden is still accessible to any visitors. The property is open for set times during December for events including ‘Visit Santa in his Grotto’ in mid-December.

    Spring/Summer

There are many events held during the open season of the property. Between April and October there are various walks in the footsteps of Barrie around Kirriemuir, led by local author Sandra Affleck. There is also a series of children’s workshops throughout the summer months to coincide with the school holidays. The Peter Pan workshops take place twice a week in the ‘Pirates’ Workshop’ and Peter Pan garden, where children can get involved in arts, crafts and games. Refreshments are also provided.

The property itself is a hive of activity in the open season. There are many things to see, including the rooms at No. 9, reconstructed to look as they would have done when Barrie lived in the house, as well as the exhibition rooms in No. 11. These rooms display important memorabilia, including early costumes and genuine manuscripts with notations from Barrie. There is also the newly created ‘Peter Pan Experience’ where children have the opportunity to dress up as Peter Pan and various other characters, and can even fly like him.
