    Santa’s Grotto & Craft Fair
House Of Dun & Montrose Basin Nature Reserve
    Sat 6 December 2008 - Sun 7 December 2008
Santa’s Grotto & Craft Fair Come and celebrate Christmas with an enchanting weekend at the House of Dun. More>
The National Trust for Scotland’s House of Dun in Montrose is delighted to announce that Santa Claus and his helpers will be visiting again this year to collect the children’s letters in time for Christmas. The children can write them on the day on special “magic” paper to ensure their delivery. Once they have visited Santa and received a pre-Christmas present they can then follow the fairy trail to Auntie Sheila’s craft workshop where they have an opportunity to make a selection of gifts from Christmas cards to ceramic snowmen. “The adult stuff” We have two local authors coming along on both days for book signing Angus Whitson, “Man with Two Dogs” Angus Whitson shares with us his countryside diary, his thoughts and reminiscences and shows us how nature can be beautiful and unsentimental, cuddly and cruel. Accompanied by his faithful friends, Macbeth, a white West Highland terrier, and his black Labrador Inka. John Nickson, a childrens author will be signing both of his books “Hamish the Hedgehog" and "Hamish Goes to the Woods". To keep mums occupied and supplied with ideas for Christmas, The Angus craft shop and Angus handloom weavers will be open. The Trust shop will be offering a range of Christmas gifts and, for the first time this year, locally grown produce to buy in preparation for your Christmas meal. Café Dun will be open over the two days with festive fare in abundance.
