Craigievar Castle

During the winter the ranger service will be working on creating the new trail which will go through the woodlands above the castle. The aim is to have the first stage of the way marked trail open by the start of the 2007 season. This will lead walkers up from the castle, beside the site of the old kitchen garden and into the woods. The woods rise high above the castle leading to beautiful views over Bennachie and the surrounding countryside. We aim to have a shorter loop returning to the castle and a longer loop returning to the entrance road and then back to the car park. This will make a huge difference to visitors wanting to come to Craigievar to have a good long walk. Progress will however depend to some degree on the weather this winter, but we shall keep you updated as work commences.
