    Disabled parking is available directly beside the castle.

    Access to the castle is difficult for wheelchairs due to many steps and spiral stairs to all rooms.

    Lightweight folding seats are available on request.

    Numerous steps in building, one step to entrance lobby, four steps down to reception area and shop, eleven steep steps with rope handrail to Great Hall, thereafter narrow, spiral stairs with rope handrails. Staff will point out hazards

    Out of hours tours and touch tours can be arranged – please contact the custodian on 013398 83635
    Grounds around the castle accessible.

    Woodland walk – a short looped path in upper part near car park grassy and uneven with three steps at beginning. Lower path grassy and very uneven with some very steep sections.

    WCs in the public car park. There are no disabled toilet facilities at present.
