    Green Tourism Award - Bronze

    The ranger service offers environmental education for all ages and abilities. With ten miles of way marked trails at different levels there is something to suit all ages and abilities. Topics include seashore, woodlands, geology, footpath management, archaeology and many others. A Young Naturalist Group for children aged 6 â€" 11 years that once a month. Guided walks and open days suited to families are conducted during the summer months. There is an activity playground nearby and the Nature Room has hands on activities for all ages. There are opportunities to volunteer and assist in the conservation of both Goatfell and Brodick Country Park. New for this year is Dan’s Walk, a woodland trail around Merkland wood, winding through mature oak and beech groves and dramatic sandstone outcrops, with sculptures produced by a renowned local artist and a fairy tale bridge.
