Volunteer thanks at Brodie Castle
07/07/2010
The National Trust for Scotland said a big ‘thank you’ to its volunteers working in the charity’s North east and Highland properties at an event at Brodie Castle, near Forres on 7 July.
Hosted by interim Chairman Dick Balharry, the event was for dedicated volunteers who devote time from National Trust for Scotland’s properties all over the North of Scotland.
Around 20 volunteers gathered at the historic castle, with some travelling from as far afield as Ellon, Aberdeenshire, Poolewe in Ross-shire and Glencoe in Lochaber to meet fellow volunteers and take part in a question and answer session.
Trust interim Chairman Dick Balharry, who is himself a volunteer, said:
“As a charity, the Trust is dependent on the good will, support and dedication of more than 3000 volunteers nationwide. We cannot underestimate the importance of each individual’s input into our remarkable organisation. Every volunteer who attended today plays a crucial role in protecting and promoting Scotland’s heritage. I offer my sincere thanks to each of them.”
Brodie Castle is celebrating its 30th anniversary as a Trust property this year. Anyone interested in volunteering at Brodie Castle should call 0844 493 2156.
