Visitors to Edinburgh’s Georgian House throughout July and August can be transported back to its heyday, to meet the people of the house from 200 years ago.
Visitors to Edinburgh’s Georgian House throughout July and August can be transported back to its heyday, to meet the people of the house from 200 years ago.
Costumed guides will be on hand as characters from the past, ready to speak with visitors about their life and life in the New Town. Guides from the present day will also be on hand to answer questions on matters beyond 1820, which may confuse the characters from Georgian times!
Property Manager Sheonagh Martin said:
“Living History makes the property come alive, allowing visitors to get a greater sense of how people used to live. The past has all kinds of stories to tell, and it adds something to hear them in the context that they happened.”
Tours run from 14:30 to 17:30 on Saturdays in July and on Wednesdays and Saturdays in August, and cost £5.50 for adults, £4.50 for concessions, £15 for a family and £10 for a one-parent family. No booking is necessary.
