| Christmas visitors to Castle Fraser, Sauchen in Aberdeenshire have been amazed by a replica of the castle fashioned from gingerbread this December.
The gingerbread castle is the handiwork of creative Castle Fraser staff and volunteers, Barbara Koch (volunteer), Sarah Earney (gardener) and partner Matt, and Fiona Vasquez (chef).
The sweet creation has been painstakingly built over the last few weeks and even comes complete with a turret, mimicking the architecture of the stunning Aberdeenshire castle and a blanket of snow.
Castle Manager Tina Low said:
“The gingerbread castle has been the centrepiece of our fabulously festive Castle Fraser this December. Visitors to our Christmas carol concerts have been very impressed with this impressive feat of engineering and baking!
"The gingerbread castle will now be conserved carefully until next Christmas, when we plan to add to it and maybe build a whole gingerbread village."
Castle Fraser hosted a series of carol concerts and fantastic family weekend throughout December.
