Outdoor drama at Newhailes
03/07/2012
This July, two fantastic theatre productions will bring a touch of intrigue and drama to the grounds at the National Trust for Scotland’s Newhailes, Musselburgh.
The fun begins on 14 July with the much-loved tale of The Railway Children. Performed by Heartbreak Productions, the moving story of Bobbie, Peter and Phil is a firm family favourite. Performed in the romantic landscape, this outdoor performance begins at 18.00. Tickets cost £12 for adults and £6 for children.
Then on 29 July, events take a darker turn with the troubled story of the rise of Richard III to power. As one would expect with Shakespeare, much drama ensues, powerfully played by the Festival Players. The outdoor performance begins at 19.00. Tickets cost £12.50 for adults and £7 for children.
Property Manager Rhiannon Naismith said:
“We are really pleased to be hosting outdoor theatre bring a picnic and a rug or a low seat and enjoy some of our best-known stories being performed under the stars at Newhailes.”
