Ranger service

The National Trust for Scotland is the largest employer of Countryside Rangers in Scotland. Let the team of permanent and seasonal staff bring environmental studies alive in some of the most dramatic and exciting outdoor classrooms in Scotland.

The Trust's Countryside Rangers are all skilled and practical naturalists with a strong commitment to conservation.
The varied areas in which they work include the mountains of Torridon, the Country Parks at Brodick and Culzean, the woodland properties close to the A9 and the spectacular coastline of St Abb's Head.

As well as being involved in the day to day management of the countryside properties, rangers organise guided walks and events. Many properties offer programmes of study which relate to the Curriculum for Excellence and if you make contact in advance it may be possible to offer activities which relate directly to the topics being studied by your school.
