This is a Printing Office.
Part of the exhibition will host drop-in printing and bookbinding demonstrations during its first two months. Staff and volunteers from Robert Smail’s will be demonstrating and talking about the process of letterpress printing.
There will be posters, a rack of type and a small Adana printing press. The press will be used to print visitor names on a commemorative bookplate and all visitors will be encouraged to try their hand at type-setting.
On Thursdays afternoons from 21st August until 25th September Stewart Colquhoun, from the conservation workshop, will be demonstrating traditional bookbinding techniques.
There will also be a range of Smail's printed goods and other print-related souvenirs available to buy.
Activities: 1st August until 30th September 2008
Monday – Saturday, 10.30am until 3.30pm
