Original features, including open fireplaces, have been retained in this charming property, which was fully redecorated in 2009. Its quiet surroundings and enclosed garden with picnic table and bench combine to provide a delightful holiday cottage, conveniently close to the village of Pitmedden.

About the property:

The centrepiece of this property is the Great Garden, originally laid out in 1675 by Sir Alexander Seton, 1st Baronet of Pitmedden. The elaborate designs, now carefully re-created, were inspired by the garden at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.

About the area:

The local villages of Tarves (2 miles) and Methlick (5 miles) offer basic 'corner shop' services. Ellon is the nearest town (8 miles) offering a full range of services including banks, bakers, supermarket, chemist, etc.

Pitmedden offers an ideal base from which to explore Aberdeenshire's rich and varied landscape and heritage, with miles of golden sandy beaches to enjoy, quaint fishing towns and harbours, a wealth of castles and houses, and gentle forest and hill walks.
