Green Tourism Award - Silver

David Livingstone, Scotland's most famous explorer and missionary, and hero of the Victorian age, was born here in 1813. Today, the David Livingstone Centre offers a remarkable setting for meetings, conferences and events.

Surrounded by 8 hectares of wildlife-rich parkland and ancient woodland, it is hard to believe that you are only a few miles from the heart of Glasgow.

As a break from the day's business, delegates can explore the Grade A listed tenement where Livingstone was born, now a museum displaying many of his personal belongings, including journals, navigational and medical equipment; relax in the Explorer's Garden, a peaceful and shady oasis bordered by the River Clyde; or stroll along the picturesque Clyde Walkway.
