The castle is 2 miles north of Brodick CalMac ferry terminal.

A scheduled bus service (#324) runs from the terminal to below the castle. A Stagecoach shuttle bus runs in the height of season to the main visitor centre.

The castle is a 30-minute walk from the centre of the village.
