Scotland's most famous explorer and missionary was born here in 1813. Today this eighteenth century tenement, just 5 miles from Glasgow City Centre, commemorates David Livingstone's life and work.
Situated within 20 acres of gardens and parkland, and once home to 24 families, the tenement was converted into a museum in 1929 and charts Livingstone's life and explorations in Africa, with many of his travel aids including diaries, scientific and navigational equipment. The adjoining conference rooms are ideal for meetings or training days.
The conference suite consists of four fully equipped rooms, available separately or together. The Africa Pavilion can accommodate 90 people theatre-style or 40 boardroom-style and has its own toilets and a bright, airy refreshment area where lunches can be served. The Victorian Room can seat 36 theatre-style or 18 boardroom-style, while the adjacent Stanley Room can seat 20 theatre-style or 12 boardroom. There is also the Nyasa Room, facing the Victoria and the Stanley rooms, where smaller meetings for up to eight people can be held.
