A truly spectacular Scottish castle, situated only 15 miles from Aberdeen, Crathes was built in the 16th century. It has a profusion of turrets, gargoyles and towers, and is surrounded by superb gardens including ancient sculpted yew trees.

For almost four centuries, Crathes was the home of the Burnetts, a family whose lineage includes generals, admirals, judges and even a Governor of New York. The family history also includes strange tales of mermaids and ghosts... Almost unchanged since it was first built in the 16th century, its glorious architecture is reminiscent of the great French châteaux.

Guided tours can also be provided round the castle, where there is great variety and interest in each room, such as the Room of the Nine Nobles and the Green Lady's Room. Marquees for larger numbers can be erected in the beautiful castle grounds.
