Castle Fraser

A grand Baronial castle dating from the 16th century, Castle Fraser is a home of almost sculptural splendour. Here, in a valley by the River Don 16 miles west of Aberdeen and only 20 minutes from Aberdeen Airport, turrets, balustrades and gables combine to memorable effect.

This magnificent castle, started in 1575 by the 6th laird, Michael Fraser, is the largest and most elaborate of the Scottish castles built on the Z-plan design. Castle Fraser is a stunning venue with a romantic atmosphere ideal for entertaining guests.

Capable of hosting up to 100 guests, either standing or seated theatre-style, the Great Hall lends itself to both corporate events and private celebrations. Smooth plastered walls, a huge open fireplace and tall windows provide a splendid baronial setting for impressive banquets for up to 80 guests or dances for 100 guests. The Library on the fourth floor can also seat 100 for a ceremony or presentation. Outside in the castle`s delightful grounds, the turreted majesty of the exterior provides a remarkable backdrop for large marquee events or relaxed receptions in the walled garden.
