Built by the Dundee financier Frederick Bower Sharp to house his internationally important collection of paintings and furniture, Hill of Tarvit Mansionhouse is the epitome of Edwardian elegance. Harnessing the talents of only the very finest craftsmen, Sharp commissioned Robert Lorimer, the most eminent architect of his day, to design the house.

Tapestries and oak panelling characterise this Edwardian venue

The focal point of this house is the Great Hall. This splendid room, decorated with 16th-century Flemish tapestries and warm oak panelling, makes a baronial setting for dinners for 50 or drinks receptions for up to 100 guests. In summer, the French windows can be opened onto the sunny terrace for uninterrupted views across the pastoral Howe of Fife. The Dining Room is one of the finest for miles around and, as befits a space designed for entertaining, makes a particularly attractive venue for smart dinners for 20 guests. Outside, the manicured lawns and beautiful gardens, punctuated by sweeping staircases and mature trees, are a perfect location for a marquee event.
