One of the finest baronial castles in Scotland and often described as a palace, Fyvie dates back to the early 13th century. Set in fantastic 18th-century designed parklands with its own private loch, Fyvie Castle is only 30 minutes from Aberdeen Airport. The castle is steeped in history, myth and legend and is the perfect location for large or intimate functions and with its romantic vision of towers, turrets and gables it is the perfect venue for weddings.
The five towers of Fyvie enshrine eight centuries of Scottish history, each named after one of the five families who owned the castle - Preston, Meldrum, Seton, Gordon and Forbes-Leith. It boasts the largest and grandest wheel staircase in Scotland, built in 1603, and today houses one of the finest furniture and portrait collections in its sumptuous Edwardian interior.
The vista from the main Drawing Room through to the Great Gallery, with its own working pipe organ, offers a spectacular setting for dinners, weddings, concerts and conferences for numbers between 100 and 120. The oak-panelled Dining Room, resplendent with red silk walls and paintings by some of the world's finest artists, is an impressive setting for dinners for up to 50 guests. The 1903 racquets court and bowling alley, with its stunning glass roof, offers a flexible space for a variety of daytime or evening events and can accommodate 110 guests for a dinner dance.
