Situated only 10 miles west of Aberdeen amid an ancient oak forest at the gateway to Royal Deeside, Drum is simply unique. Medieval history, Jacobean romance and Victorian opulence combine to striking effect.
The combination of a 13th-century keep and a fine Jacobean mansion house makes Drum unique among Scottish castles. Owned for 653 years by one family, the Irvines, every room is steeped in history. Superb furniture and paintings and a 16th-century chapel all add to this delightful venue for entertaining guests today.
The floodlit façade greets the arrival of guests - often accompanied by the sound of a lone piper. A champagne reception for 70, or dinner for 50, can be held in the graceful Drawing Room looking out onto the historic south lawn.
The beautiful chapel in the castle grounds seats 35 for a family ceremony, and guests can then stroll in the delightful walled rose garden. Larger events can be held in a marquee on the south lawn against the backdrop of the castle.
