The Jacobites line up
This is a modern photograph, taken during the shooting of the film for
the Visitor Centre. Some pupils may identify more closely with photographs
than with drawings or contemporary sketches; however, for some pupils
it may be necessary to stress that this is a photograph of a re-enactment,
rather than of the actual battle.
Pupils can:
- Spot the ‘white cockade’ ribbon in the bonnets of some men
- Discuss the clothes worn by soldiers
- Look at the weapons carried by soldiers; the soldiers shown are carrying
muskets, as many if not most - Jacobites did on the day, in addition to
their traditional weapons
