The Visitor Centre tells the story of the natural history of the area
and the story of the Battle of Killiecrankie, major event in the Jacobite
rising of 1689.

glen, with a section and film on the massacre and Jacobite connections.

Dramatic ruined infantry barracks dating from 1719. Captured and burnt
by Jacobite army in 1746 and then the site of the army’s dispersal
after Culloden.

Massive army base constructed in the years after Culloden. Historic barrack
rooms showing domestic life of Government soldier. Still a working army
