Programme Description:
This programme takes your class to both Culloden Battlefield (National
Trust for Scotland) and Fort George (Historic Scotland). During this joint
visit, the pupils will meet the Chisholm brothers – one fighting
on either side of the conflict that started in 1745. Pupils will compare
the lives of a Jacobite soldier at Culloden with that of a Redcoat soldier
at Fort George. They will look at the weapons and costumes, and find out
about the provisions that the men and their wives received. Pupils will
spend 1.5 hours at each site. Both parts of the programme are guided by
a costumed interpreter.
