We will make a short evening call to the Rock of Gibraltar, which is steeped in history evolving from its strategic location at the southernmost tip of the Iberian peninsula, where Europe meets Africa. After a day at sea to settle in, we will arrive at Oporto, best known for its famous port wine. Our next port is Vilagarcía de Arousa, situated on the picturesque Ría de Arousa firth in Galicia. From here the marvellous World Heritage city of Santiago de Compostela is within easy reach. We cruise up the western coastline of France and come to Brittany and the port of Brest. It is one of the major cities of the region and, due to its protected location on the western tip, is an important port and naval base. Twenty-three miles southwest of Land’s End lie the Isles of Scilly, where we will make our next stop. Passengers will have the option to visit St Mary’s or Tresco. Our journey continues to Ireland where our first call is at Waterford City, renowned for its intricately patterned cut glass and the factory is well worth a visit. The final port of call is Ireland’s capital, Dublin. The city has a worldwide reputation for culture, wit, friendliness and beauty.

Lecturers – We are delighted that the guest lecturers on board this cruise include Maurice Wilkins, Head Gardener and Property Manager of Arduaine Garden.

Prices start at £2,149 with generous discounts available. Please call the Spirit of Adventure team on 0800 559 3965 and quote NTS09 to check current fares and availability.
