The Crathes Half Marathon 2012
Crathes Half Marathon 2012

The National Trust for Scotland invites you to join us on Saturday 15th September for the 2012 Crathes Castle, Garden and Estate Half Marathon.

Starting beside the fairytale like Crathes Castle the route takes you out onto the country roads to the north and east of the estate grounds. You head out towards the estate of fellow NTS property, Drum Castle, eventually turning and heading back in a loop back towards Crathes and finishing in front of the castle.

Most of the route is on quiet, tarmac covered roads and there are also a couple of level, off-road farm track sections for a bit of variety. The route is - unusually for this part of the world, relatively flat, the lowest point of the route is at 61 metres above sea level and the highest point at 113 metres; a range of only 52 metres.

The race will start at 12pm with registration from 10.30am.

The Crathes Half Marathon will offer competitors a good Personal Best opportunity and as well as a T-shirt, this year's finishers will also receive a medal. Runners and spectators alike will have an enjoyable, fun-filled and fulfilling day out, and the £25 entry fee will help support the valuable conservation work of the NTS.
