The Trust’s founding charter states that we care for our properties 'on behalf of the Nation'. This is interpreted to mean that our places are there to be enjoyed by visitors and residents alike. They are places that enrich our lives and from which we can learn more about ourselves, our history and our environment. And if we wish they are places where we can undertake practical conservation and research.
