The Burns 250 Collection - £20000

The Burns 250 Collection allows you to make a donation in memory of a loved one or as a gift. Your donation will pay for the conservation and care of your chosen item. The collection items on this page are still available and each item has a photograph and description to help with your choice.

Once you have identified an item you would like to conserve, please contact our Burns 250 Team who will be happy to arrange for your donation to be processed. A member of the team will arrange for your exclusive certificate, museum recognition and, where appropriate, your museum opening invitation.

We can also accept your payment online. Simply click the donate now button on this page and follow the steps to pay by credit or debit card. A member of the Burns 250 Team will then contact you to arrange for your chosen item, exclusive certificate, museum recognition and, where appropriate, your museum opening invitation.

Bust Of Burns By Patrick Park
Park attended the 1844 Burns Festival in Alloway and was inspired by the Burns Monument. This bust makes Burns appear as a Roman Emperor.

Silhouette of Clarinda
This silhouette, made in ivory, is a profile of Burns's 'Clarinda', or Mrs Agnes McLehose. It is the work of the renowned John Miers. Burns became very friendly with 'Clarinda', whose husband had left her to go to Jamaica.

Scots Musical Museum, Vol 1-4
Burns's own copy of a publication he co-edited with James Johnston. The Museum recorded traditional songs from across Scotland, which were in danger of disappearing. This copy has many notes inscribed by the poet, including, his 'preferred version' of Auld Lang Syne.

This ornate chair was carved from the wood that had formerly been part of the printing press at John Wilson's printing works in Kilmarnock on which the first volume of Burns' poems were printed in 1786.

Cast of the skull of Robert Burns
The cast was taken when the poet's grave was opened in 1834 to receive the body of his widow in 1834. A phrenological study was written which sought to determine Burn's true abilities and character.

Robert Burns standing portrait after Nasmyth
This full-length portrait of Robert Burns is a copy of the famous painting by Alexander Nasmyth (1758-1840). Nasmyth initially produced a pencil sketch of the Poet standing, wrapped in thought while on a visit with him to Roslin near Edinburgh.
