The buses that stop near the NTS head office are as follows:

from the City Centre: 2, 3/3A, 25/X25/N25, 34, 35
from Leith: 21, 25/X25/N25
from Gorgie: 25/X25/N25
from Slateford: 20, 34, 35
from Niddrie: 2
from Dalkeith: 3/3A
from Granton (peak services only): 32

The 25 & 34 stop at Calder View (0.3 mile walk), the 2 & 20 stop at Hermiston Gait
(0.6 mile walk), and all others stop at Bankhead Loan on Bankhead Drive

We are on National Cycle Route 754, the Union Canal. Details of how to access the NTS office from the canal can be found here - to plan your own route, click the 'change' link to the right of the route title.
By Train click to view
Edinburgh Park railway station is a 12-minute walk (just over 1/2 mile). ScotRail services run from Edinburgh Waverley every 15-20 minutes and the journey time is 8 minutes. Details can be found on the ScotRail website.

From Platform 1 (trains from Glasgow or Dunblane) use the nearby underpass or walk over bridge to exit the station and from Platform 2 (trains from Edinburgh) directly exit the station. Once you have left the station turn left, and then take the first road on your right, Cultins Road. After passing the Royal Mail sorting office and Mid New Cultins road both on the right, take the next road on the right which has a bridge over the Union Canal and also gives access to the Ford Peoples garage. From the M8

When approaching Hermiston junction take the lane for Hermiston Gait/ City Centre /A71, stay left and once passed the Hermiston Gait Retail Park exit stay in the left lane for the A71.
Keep left and follow the signs for Edinburgh West/CityCentre/Kilmarnock/West Calder A71 (do not go on the City By Pass South A720)
Keep in the left lane for City Centre and you will approach the Calder junction which is a roundabout with traffic lights. Turn left onto the A71 for City Centre, keeping in the left lane, take the first exit signposted Sighthill Industrial Estate/Edinburgh Park Station.
Take the first left at the Ford Peoples Garage. Turn right at the end of this road and the National Trust for Scotland is the building on your right.

From the City Centre

Heading west, take the A71, Calder Road, to the Calder Junction roundabout. Go right round the roundabout and exit the junction, back onto the Calder Road, heading east back towards Edinburgh.
Keeping in the left lane, take the first exit signposted Sighthill Industrial Estate/Edinburgh Park Station.
Take the first left at the Ford Peoples Garage. Turn right at the end of this road and the National Trust for Scotland is the building on your right.

From the airport, Lothian Buses 35 runs to the Bankhead Loan stop on Bankhead Avenue (just before the Bankhead roundabout). This is just over 1/2 miles from the office. From the bus stop, cross over the road and head towards the roundabout, curving right onto the service road parallel to the main Calder Road . After approximately 500 metres, the road curves to the right. On your left is a pedestrian cut-through to Cultins Road . Take this, go right on Cultins Road and take your first left, a bridge over the Union Canal . We are the first building on the right. A map of the route can be found here.
